Consistently has been Dr. Phil, currently on his 21st season, he started his talkshow career as the go-to doctor friend of Oprah Winfrey.
I liked how he talked about really fucked up shit which I could relate to at age 13 while i was in juvie (when I got into him in his fifth season) That's when I got into him cuz they only had a couple channels in juvie and nothings on at 3pm so i'd watch doctor phil and then oprah came on at 4 which i didn't like so much (but would watch until maury at 5) So some 15 years later, I still watch Doctor Phil xD I don't watch it daily though, but once or twice a week I watch like three or four episodes. And I love Doctor Phil so much that even the lame episodes (man cheating on wife, wife contacts doctor phil, man comes on and admits everything right off the bat) are still ok, and the good ones (kid killer turns 21 and gets out and meets the mother of the kid he murdered for the first time seven years after he killed her son as a free man) are fucking fantastic!
He put on his wife so the last 2-4 minutes is basically him shilling for his wife's cosmetics, clothing brand, charities, interest stories, podcast, (these are all things his wife Robin does that i only know about it because every episode has her standing next to dr phil lol) but w/e that's his wife and i get it
plus i mean if u think about it, some middle aged woman watching a talk show aint really gonna buy anything, so you gotta figure out a way to peal the audience for money here and there, but i don't buy none of that shit, but i did however as a minor read the majority of the books that bore Oprah's Book Club sticker on the cover whenever I saw them because they were typically really really good books. but i didn't buy shit like books as a child, either rented from libraries or stole.
Anyway, thats my uh essay on my favorite television show that's carried throughout most of my life.
