Arbitrary names given to pieces of land doesn't define a persons citizenship.
A person holing a British passport and British citizenship is British...not Pakistani...especially if he's never even been to Pakistan. -

Better to pay attention to it than not, lest you end up with the "Biannual Amortized Bailey-Yves Financial Underwriting of Kabbalah" and realize you've set yourself up to BABYFUK every two years when you want to give a few billion dollars to the jedi wizards secretly controlling your nation's weather. Since you're paying attention anyway to avoid situations like that, you really might as well have fun with it and give a good name with a fun and harmless acronym instead.
And nobody calculates the seconds saved, but if it can be abbreviated to Cola or Collar people are just... going to do it. They'll all start out saying "cost of living adjustment", but then someone will defect and the person they're talking to will understand what they meant based on context and do the same to someone else until everyone's doing it anyway. SEE: Scuba, laser etc. -
