2022-12-02 at 9:34 PM UTCHere’s why the man accused of killing an Antioch Chevron employee wasn’t charged with murder
ANTIOCH, Calif. (KRON) — A suspect was arrested in connection with a robbery and deadly shooting
at an Antioch Chevron gas station on Saturday. He was charged with robbery and possession of stolen
property, but not murder. The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office explained that decision in a
press release on Thursday.
Ronald Jackson III, a 20-year-old Antioch resident, is accused of shooting and killing Chevron
clerk James Williams. The Antioch Police Department described the situation as a “botched robbery.”
Reason
According to DA Diana Becton, video shows Jackson and another suspect running away
from the gas station after the robbery. Williams was seen chasing after them armed with a gun.
Williams then fired at Jackson and hit him in the leg, according to Becton. Williams
continued towards Jackson with his firearm pointed at him, and Jackson shot him twice — in the chest and the leg.
[color=orange]According to Becton, Williams shooting Jackson cannot be considered
self-defense in the eyes of the law because he pursued Jackson with a firearm and
continued to pursue him after shooting him once. -
2022-12-02 at 9:41 PM UTCso is the store clerk going to jail for shooting that injured, defenseless man?
What kind of a heartless bastard are you Wozny? So after shooting the guy in the leg, he's free to just torture him and do whatever he wants after he's already neutralized the threat? Is that the world your fatass wants to live in? -

the store guy was murdered. so the arm robber won't get murder charges because the guy he was robbing was shot and the store employee chased him out before getting shot back by the robber and so now it was the store clerk's fault for continuing the chase when he should have stopped. so the robber now had the legal right to shoot in self-defense. -

That's awesome -
2022-12-02 at 10:39 PM UTCAntioch has a history of weird shit like this.
and the funny odd thing is DA Becton was supposed to be stopping the known corruption of the former DA and Antioch Police and the CoCo County police force in general
Like the former DA who would have hookers set up guys at the bar by buying drinks, getting drunk with the men and then having them drive them to their places with cops waiting to give them DUIs
that's the milder form of corruption. I can't believe she's letting this guy go. -

2022-12-04 at 8:19 PM UTCThe D.A. should have taken into consideration that there is a massive amount of adrenaline running through the Store Clerks body and considered it a survival mode and not him taking the enjoyment of continuing to keep a good guy/bad guy going.
if the piece of shit robbing the store didn't initiate it then the store clerk would be alive. thats the bottom fucking line. this is why people can't protect themselves to the full in California. the stand your ground laws Suck here. -
