I'm going to be a miser and build a basic house on top but dig a giant underground fortress so when the invasion (Russsian, Chinese, A more Advance and pissed off North Korea with Iran as a Sidekick, Space Aliens, Fallen Angels, a Bunch of lazy Slavics etc etc) I will live out my life in a self-sustaining biodome and a sunroom from the Chrystal windows above ground potatoes and baby carrots and spinach and plenty of soybeans and MRE and 30 years storage meals in cans
and I will have plenty of retro emulator games and streaming films and music and i'm going to live to be in my 90s but kind of rickity and frail
but I'll survive the impending doom while everyone else enjoys their faggoted clown world destruction and purge wars

No one is going to pay $100,000 for a 10x10 basement when you can just expand above ground (especially when space isn't such a premium in Texas). The REASON there are few homes in Texas with basements is because it's not cost effective due in part to the high water table.
