I feel conflicted about buying kawaii things, they cheer me up but it also makes me feel bad because it isn’t what an adult does and if people knew they might think I’m mentally ill or treat me as a child. I remember my friend saying her aunt played with Barbie dolls and was sent to a mental hospital. I’m not going to go so far as to buy dolls but it makes me sad I have to keep my love for Polly Pockets hidden. I want cute pink things but don’t want to feel like a child.

I’m gonna end up with a secret room with 40s style decor and dolls houses.

I think something might be wrong. I was fine giving away all my Polly Pockets when I was 13, and I didn’t start collecting fairy books until I was 21. So maybe I’m not childish and it’s just a coping mechanism.

I remember my mum coming into my room when she thought I was asleep and taking a lot of my toys away, I never got over the massive dolls house disappearing.

I think I want 40s style because I spent some of my childhood in my great uncle’s cottage, it was all 40s style. He was born in 1918.

It's kind of basic compared to the streamline 20s-30s
It's basically when people had no money and most things were simple style
I studied basic interior 101 and chose not to continue
But it was for the construction puposes of retro work over that of a home decorator. Those people make bank
