Both our vehicles are broke. I need to fix one of them asap. I'll either be replacing the power steering pump on my 2009 Subaru Legacy or I'll be replacing the cv axle on a 2009 Dodge Caliber. Shops are all backed up and I have to get one of these vehicles back on the road. Money isn't important. Time is... Which one is going to be easier for me to do?

are you sure that bushing needs to be set differently? why does it need to be different, cause the new pump doesn't mount the same or something? asking cause ive gone on some reatarded dyslexic missions on stuff like that before and wasted a lot of time messing with something i was just looking at wrong and didn't need to mess with in the first place.
is this what you need to do, and how you already tried? use a bigger socket as a cup to 'catch' da bushing, and a smaller one to push. letter soak with peepee blaster or WD, give it a lil heat if you can
is it something you could accomplish with adding a washer to space off the bushing farther?

I was going to suggest the same thing c-clamp and a socket or a long punch and a hammer. Propane torch would also help. The problem is always shitty steel and aluminum bind up on a molecular level pisses me off.
