    I was sitting at Dan's Bar in walnut creek and some older guys started talking about it and I said, I heard someone recently (but didn't say on the computer) breaking a mirror below the waterline and thought it was some kind of inside joke. and this 80 plus year old guy was like "Nope, it's a known story to the locals"

    this was Walnut Creek before the big redesign of the city to bring in big bucks. it's Contra Costa's Rodeo Drive now.
    Walnut Creek had a charming old town feel to it with older blue collar and ranchers from the tri-valley coming into the water-holes back then.

    Dan's used to be a place that played cover bands (they prolly still do) but has since become just another big-town establishment on the weekends

    I fucking hate Walnut Creek now as far as driving around. it used to be a nice town. it even had riots during the George Floyd moment. breaking into high end stores and just wrecking the fuck out of the city. overwhelmed the small town'esque police force. they ended up blocking off all the roads to through traffic and still do it to some of the streets now.
