Not really relevant that the power one wields as a serial killer is addictive...the desire to be liked, loved and respected is absent from many and seen as a needy weakness. -

But expanding on that the older I get the less I care about people liking me or respecting me...except for those I care about (the circle of which gets smaller and smaller) I couldn't give a shit about if I'm "likeable" or not...I do me...there is also a freeing power in not giving a shit. -

Sure. And i am not actually planning to take over the world. But would i be The Lord of All That Is, it would be less stressful to be loved and respected by the people, than to be hated by them. Also, i will need an army, i am not dispensing with violence by any means. Also i would guess that serving a just ruler, would be better for morale than serving a tyrant.
