tor isn't a barrier any more, we got the tor browser and Brave, both make it really easy.
there are technical issues with latency that make the xenforo software a bit crap on tor, and the KF admin never seemed to get his DDoS protection scaled properly on reverse-proxies, so for tor it'd be even harder for him. i'd be really surprised if he made that work reliably. -
