I believe our closing date on the new house is November 9th.
The contract gives the current owners 2 weeks after closing to be out of the house.
My girlfriend signed away her house on Friday and we have until December 5th to be out of it.
This weekend we have started packing stuff up so that it's not one big disorganized last minute rush in what could very well be snowy weather.
Tomorrow (Monday) the home inspector is coming to do his job and our fingers are crossed that everything checks out.
Also, looks like our mortgage will cost $2k a month.
Yikes.

You should work on improving your credit score over the next year and then refinance. 2k per month is a huge nut for housing unless you're flush with income.
