By further reducing the deficit and also helping to reduce some of the pains inflicted on Americans by rising inflation.

reducing the deficit by 100 billion is kind of a moot point when you've simultaneously signed off on sending 3.3 trillion to israel and almost 500 billion to the Ukraine.

as for the rest, treating the symptoms rather than the illness is palliative care

Spending money is how you stop excess money being spent causing prices to rise.

    Read my post.

I said it LOWERS the deficit by 100 billion. Not that it REDUCES by 100 billion.

That number is from the Congressional Budget Office which consists of a joint committee

As for the meat of it, yeah, it just treats the symptoms. But it's a lot better than anything Trump ever did. Extending ACA subsidies has a real effect for me. Biden just signed a bill that ensures I can keep my insurance. I know people who have forgone medication because it costed too much (500+/mo for a fucking pill) but now they would be able to afford it. That 35/mo cap on insulin for seniors is pretty huge too. This is the only forward progress we've had on healthcare reform since 2008 when the ACA was passed.

Green energy tax credits are cool too if you're not a conspiracy theorist climate change denier.

15% minimum corporate tax rate is bullshit easy to get around, not gonna do anything. Still waiting on Biden to TAX THE RICH.

I could care less about the deficit or inflation really. There's little that can be done at this point.

The economy better watch it, it's on thin ice. If it inflates more than the regulated amount they will have to pay a big fine

let the fat old fuckers croak. they consume too much, removing their demand from the market would lead to an excess supply, and therefore lower prices. transport costs for fatties is also disproportionately high, so there'd be a green angle to this policy too.

banning insulin for seniors would be the most effective move, but making it less affordable would be a palatable compromise.

the left hand gives and the right hand takes.

the corporations that are getting 15% tax (the few that still have their tax base in the US and do not receive waivers) will also be the ones that get tax credited for their ESGs.
