2022-09-10 at 4:04 AM UTCGod bless Poland. I can only imagine the warm fuzzy feeling of drunken slavic pride they experience when they think about this battle they... lost. They lost this battle. "But the Spartans lost at Thermoplyae t-" yeah, yeah, and they took 20000 Persians with them to their graves. 700 Polacks fighting for 3 days managed to kill "several dozen" Nazis.
If the historical development of their respective civilizations alone weren't enough to convince you, I think these results pretty conclusively demonstrate:
Meds? White.
Slavs? Not white. -

Even if we accept this, it's till falling a mite bit shy of 20000. So the Polish Thermopylae is "managing to kill a bit more than we lost, and then our commander shoots himself in the head like a little bitch instead of dying in glorious battle like Leonidas". Sounds like some kurwa coping to me. -

Lol I wonder how well you would fare defending a solitary bunker by yourself armed with only a machine gun, against an entire nazi company with tanks and artillery.

The actual ratio was 72:1, which is nothing to scoff at. Why else would other countries sing songs of their valor generations later?
There were actually many other Polish thermopylae throughout history, that were far more impressive.

Is "several dozen:700 or 900:700" = 72:1 drunken Polish math or were you referring to one of those other battles you posted? Or wait, do you just mean how outnumbered you were? Wow congrats. Getting gangstomped by 15 niggers isn't impressive just because you "went 15:1".
I couldn't code Five Nights at Freddy's by myself either, but that's never going to stop me from pointing out the game is shit and it's pathetic that it has such a feverishly worshipful fandom. Being a soft and dainty modern butterfly, presumably I'd not fare well in that situation. I'll admit, I might even farewell (that is to say: paint my brains on the bunker ceiling like the Polak in Chief did at Wizna). Although part of me likes to believe that, if I somehow held out for 3 days and made every inch of ground hell for the enemy to take, I'd have come out in surrender at the end with a shit-eating grin on my face and made the Nazis do that particular job for me. -
2022-09-10 at 9:25 PM UTCWhat I'm saying is: the commander should have been proud for making his inevitable defeat as annoying as humanly possible. I'd respect the energy there. The spiteful, petty energy. Taking national pride in the defeat is just... sad. And I ain't reading all those links about other Polish Thermopylaes, but if they're all crushing Polish defeats like this one, the pattern of doing so is even more sad.
Unless it's also a pyrrhic victory for the enemy, it's still just a loss. The beady-eyed, equally drunken Anglos are just as retarded about this shit. There's nothing noble or heroic about being slowly marched into machinegun fire at the onset of WWI or the illustrious charge of the Light Brigade at the Battle of Balaclava. That's not Your Nation's Indomitable Warrior Spirit burning brightly 🫡, that's Your Nation's Indomitable Warrior Spirit senselessly getting the fuck beat out of it by a gang of melanated youth. -
2022-09-10 at 9:34 PM UTCLosing 20000 men to move through one pass and onto Lakonian soil? Pyrrhic victory. The only thing pyrrhic about Germany's victory at Wizna is that it led to Germany occupying Poland. Being near Polish people was an incredibly high price to pay for the ground they took.

2022-09-10 at 9:49 PM UTCIf anything Wizna speaks to the effectiveness of the Nazi army; that they lost under 1000 men seizing such a highly fortified position in just 3 days. Like, imagine if 500000 polaks showed up on the 4th day and killed every last German to the man in a hypothetical "Second Battle of Wizna" - the Germans would still have had more glory painted on them from seizing the fort than Poland would have losing the damn thing and then defeating the Germans.
If Poland hadn't ultimately lost the war, Wizna would be a footnote. The entire relevance of the battle, the source of the pride you're drawing on, is essentially "how much we struggled and how bravely we resisted Germany before their cock slid fully and completely into our asshole".
