    I have always wondered how they made, altered and reproduced pictures before they had photoshop and laser printers. Probably no one does it nowadays, so it's already a dead art.

    "Photoshop" isn't a trademark. it's an actual term used as far back as the 1800s. they use "burn tools" by taking paper while the film is under developing light from the negative and they allow certain areas to burn in with light, exposing them more than other areas. they first do a draft development, look at how the camera lacked lighting or blure and then they correct it using special techniques.
