    That’s just the way it is, people judge appearances, you attach a photo to your C.V, it matters if you want to date or be liked by people. It’s also a basic emotional human need to take care of your appearance. Personally if I look like shit I’ll feel like it too, so I do it for myself as well.

    I still don’t know what your point is. In the UK you attach a photo with your C.V or have a link on it to your LinkedIn page, employers will see your photo there and will also stalk your Facebook if you have one.

    they do that everywhere, but nobody's forcing you to upload photos of yourself or have searchable social media accounts in the first place.
