this guy at my work is hispanic and is only like 17/18 and hes a cool dude but just got bells palsy and he seemed kind of upset and I feel upset for the guy because thats pretty fucked up. He told me that hispanics have a higher rate of getting and so I started researching why hispanics or anyone for that matter gets it and its unclear. Anyone here ever had it before? The only disease I have is herpes simplex but its just the normal kind of the mouth.
I also knew another guy that had it 11 years ago and he was hispanic too and had it.
never heard of it; apparently it's a problem that causes facial nerves to function incorrectly, so it's similar to regular (cerebral) palsy but more localised.
if hispanics specifically are more likely to be affected it's likely hereditary or has genetic causes; none of the sources I just skimmed over gave any hints as to what actually causes it though - just a few guesses.
It's when you were going to be one person on the left side, and a slightly different person on the the right side. I mean, you were supposed to be one person, but you ended up to be two, like Siamese twins. Then the two halves have a hard time coordinating the entire body.
