Maybe you guys don't care, but I thought I'd post this anyway. According to psych.global's History of Psychedelics in Asia:
"Soma, an elixir thought to contain the highly psychedelic Amanita muscaria (Fly Agaric mushroom), is referenced heavily in ancient Hindu Sanskrit texts."
"In the Rig Veda, a text that is over 3,000 years old and remains sacred to Hindus to the present day, the psychoactive sacrament soma was the subject of hymns of praise for its power to bring those who consume it in contact with the gods."
The Rig Veda was composed in Panjab (literally translated as "The Land of Five Rivers," a region in South Asia; the majority of which is now located in modern-day Pakistan). That is where my family is from, but I was born and raised in Europe. Although I am Islamic (like most Panjabis are), I think South Asian history is important to learn about for me due to how rich it is, tracing back to the earliest civilization in the world: the Indus Valley Civilization (which even pre-dates the Vedic era in which the Rig Veda was composed), even if my ancestors' beliefs and traditions are foreign concepts to me.
Well, at least psychedelics aren't a foreign concept to me anymore as I tried it for the first time a few days ago. I absolutely loved it. I theorized earlier about how I may have had a naturally higher resistance to substances and now learning about the history of psychedelics, I think it makes more sense to me now.

I wasn't tripping, just took a microdose to enhance my mood and give me some energy and make me feel a little more groovey that night.
