Climate change makes extreme heat and drought more likely to occur.
"We can expect to continue seeing more frequent and longer periods of extremely high temperatures, as global temperatures increase further," said senior C3S scientist Freja Vamborg. -

Las Vegas, NM a town 60 miles east of Santa Fe, is running out of drinkable water. The Calf Canyon/Hermits Peak Fire, the largest ever in New Mexico, has altered the landscape of the area. Contaminated runoff is clogging the water treatment plants.
As a result, residents are urged to reduce water use. Suggestions include using paper and plastic, single use, plates and utensils.
The compounding effects of this fire, and other fire ravaged areas, means greater use of single-use items contributing to higher trash production and higher energy consumption. Additionally, restaurants are charging extra for these disposable tableware.
The effects of climate change across the American west is creating a snowball of secondary and tertiary problems, accelerating into localized, regional, and national collapse. -

"There is no more water in the pipes, so the municipalities are now being supplied by trucks," Béchu told France Info, adding that how smoothly the supply goes depends on the municipality's size and whether or not it is in the mountains.

2022-08-10 at 11:26 PM UTCBlackouts in China as heatwave pushes electricity usage to record levels
In recent years there have been widespread blackouts that have caused havoc across China – blamed on extreme temperatures, rising demand for electricity and shortages in coal, which is still the main source of China’s power.
China is among several countries to have moved back towards a coal-focused energy supply, despite ambitious emissions reduction pledges, amid a global crisis exacerbated by the Ukraine conflict. -
2022-08-11 at 3:22 AM UTCSimultaneous climate events risk damaging entire socioeconomic systems
In short, the article and paper discuss how extreme and worsening weather events around the world (mainly focusing on heat and drought) have the potential (and currently are) to disrupt and break out modern societies. I.e. drought causes rivers to dry up meaning waterway shipping stops, vital goods don’t arrive to where they are needed, people suffer. (Thus, collapse.)

Just one pandemic overwhelmed the medical system and nearly destroyed the financial system which was prevented by printing trillions of dollars (causing inflation). Inflation is already at 15-20%. The government lies constantly just like they changed the definition of what is considered a recession days before the GDP numbers came out.
Will we kick the can down the road, causing hyper-inflation? OR will we stop printing causing the greatest depression the world has ever seen?
