Instead of taking the Subaru she was adamant we needed a rental car and told me at was only $400 but come to find out it is $700.
Ill borrow my mom's car if that makes her feel better but im not paying $700 for a car we will drive 5 hours and leave parked for the majority of the next week.
And she is constantly up my ass concerning this grocery list of "essentials" that looks more like we are going to open a hotel and restraunt than stay at one.
I knew we will both get down there and be a lot of tired and her idea of cooking every meal is ridiculous.
Honestly a box or 2 of cereal and some juice/water and we should be good.
I told her at would be just as easy making a run to the grocery once we are down there and get a better feel for everything.
Also she wants travel sized everything i.e. toothpastes and shampoos yada yada which Im not doing because they cost a much as they regular ones and it's not like we have to go on a plane.
I've told her to leave it to me which she hasn't at all...
Im going to dig out some suit cases for out trip and all she needs to do us pack her clothes, the kids clothes and the bathroom stuff.
Ill stop at the store a couple days before we got and pick up snacks and drinks for the car.
Im going to work the Friday before we leave and the next morning we load up our 3 suitcases and a cooler, stop and grab ice, and we drive.
I love her ability to prep and all but if I let her keep this up Ill be bald before we even leave.

My mom always use to over think packing and it drove everyone nuts.
Whenever we went on vacation she somehow managed to us up ill the storage capacity the car has by filling it with damn near everything we even might need.
I always found it to be really annoying and more often than not a total waste of time.
Whenever we would finally get back home it seemed to take an entire day just to unload the car and out things (that we didn't even use) back away.
Im a minimalist to some degree but I also know it is 2022 and I can pay some peasant $20 to deliver my groceries.
I have 2 more weeks of work until vacation.
95 more working hours and we are good to go.
Really looking forward to the drive down and the anticipation.
Sucks to even think about it only being a week but Im already planning another vacation next year.

Discover time travel and go back to the cowboy era buy a stagecoach and go on a Nationwide tour all the saloons rent a whore for a wooden nickel just to chuck her down the stairs then go drink hot beer at the bar and listen to the pianoman. Pass out at three wake up at ten get in the stagecoach do it all again
