Someone sold 62 3D printed guns for $150 each at a Houston gun buy-back event.

I never made one, but I hear 3D printed guns are shit, they fall apart after just a few shots cos 3D printed plastic is ridiculously, pathetically weak.

I've seen them before and heard they were unreliable. When you're using something designed to protect your life you want it to work everytime. It's better than nothing but if it's something you need you don't want any doubts. It's like buying a discount parachute or a top of the line name brand one

That's kind of the point of them...you use once to kill whoever and then dispose of it. It's not meant to be a family heirloom to hang above the fireplace and say to your guests..."My grandpa fashioned that with his own 3D cad design skills and Anycubic Mega X...It fires as good today as it did back in the dark days of the 2020s"

Literally none of the parts of a 3D printer can/could be used on a CNC machine...you'd have to replace them all. Motors...too weak, print head...obviously not. Power supply, too weak, firmware, wrong type, frame too small/weak...you might be able to reuse the on/off switch and some of the stop sensors.
