This is why no one is scared of the real horrors of WWIII and knowing it's going to eventually happen. It's not two super powers keeping each other in check anymore like the 70s and 80s with ICBM
People in western nations have had it too coosh for too long.
I need to rent a bobcat shovel and back-hoe and prepare. Even if we're a few years off it's a 5 hour drive from here so prolly a futile attempt to get on I-80 with everyone's fleeing panicky persons on the 250 miles to the desert. -

But yeah. It's full on survival mode. Growing carrots. Potatoes, leafy greens and occasional wild meat sources you can smoke to preserve is sustainable for living. Grow chickpeas to make grain for bread is easier than looking for an entire acre field of wheat to make what? Two loaves of bread. Lol. That's a lot of work.
Also potatoes will make starter yeast. That or grapes -
