Anyone recommend a smaller sized pickup truck? I'm not that familiar with pickup trucks. I don't need a big stupid thing, I want something I can just haul household stuff around, maybe a few bags of cement, bricks, wood etc, easy on the fuel consumption and reliable...and of course cheap, I'll probably be looking for a used one.

That's not a bad idea, or maybe Afghanistan and buy one of those Humvee's the Americans left there.
