   bump. I never read his book but I believe he suggested it was unfortunate the club culture was stuck on Harleys, when American bike makers fell far behind on performance and handling the jap stuff was wicked fast and more practical in many ways.

   I saw that on the news about him a year ago in an interview. They didn't even accept Triumphs or Norton's into the MC let alone Japanese bikes but the club I believe started from a group of WW2 pilots with a lot of animosity towards Japan at their creation which was still around in the 60s 20 years after their start so perhaps ths was a rule to stay American made?
   
   I dunno.. don't really know anything about them.
