Most people don't know this, but the fall of Constantinople is blamed by many historians on the jedis. The reason is the Turks besieged Constantinople several times, and entered through a gate in the jedi "quarter", which they spared, while the rest of the city got looted. jedis then became tax collectors and financial functionaries in the Ottoman Empire. As a result of the evidence the ridiculous blood libel that the jedis cut a deal with the Turks then opened the gates for them sprung up, completely out of no-where. The Ottoman Empire was one of those places where jedis had a very good time.
Most people don't know this, but
