I was queueing at a bar to get a packet of peanuts and a random guy being served before me turned and asked what I was getting, I could have said anything I wanted at that point but I just said dry roasted peanuts
He added that onto his order of beers and just gave me them for free, I said thanks but why?
He explained he’s part of this domino effect thing - whenever you can just do a random generous thing for anyone and it’ll cause a chain reaction
That stuck with me and when I had the chance I did the same, a foreigner in front of me at the gym was trying to get vitamin water from the machine causing people to queue, so I just tapped my code in for him and he thanked me, it just meant I had to wait another 20 minutes for a refill
Now I imagine whoever that foreigner was remembered what I did for him there, he could do something like that for a stranger too, in an airport at a vending machine or something for example
