Well I didn't find me a new ride this weekend.
Perhaps if I work extra hard this week and save all my pennies up I might just find something else in the near future.

Used cars have gone super expensive right now here. The other day I went to ask about a Nissan Leaf, new, and they said "come back in 2023". Then they kindly offered to sell me a used one for the same price of a new one.
I could get a 4 year old Suzuki Ignis for €17,000, or a new one for €19,000. That is if I can get a new one.
It's a fucked up situation, it's a big panic to buy after the bullshit pandemic. I am 100% sure a big recession is next, and used cars will be had for about half the price they are now within 3 or 4 years.

The market is adjusting rn in response to inflation/logistics constraints so its actually a good time to buy vehicles, you just have to search a little harder to find ones that haven't responded to the new market yet.

Taking the time out to hunt for bargains is always worthwhile. If you look under all the stones you will find something good. Private sellers are the way to go. We used to have fortnightly classified booklets for sale in shops here, I dunno how you find them nowadays though.

My situation doesn't give me vasts amounts of time to "wait it out".
My vehicle is not safe and every time I look at 1 thing, 2 more things break.
At this point I don't even have oil in it anymore.
I try topping it off but it all leaks out within a day or 2.
The only oil that doesn't leak out is the little bit the oil pan itself can hold but anything more ends up on the street.
Last week I went to get my tire fixed and while it was jacked up I caught a glace at the rear diff cover only to notice it looked like the seal on it went out at some point over the winter and the whole damn thing is just covered in sludgey black shit.
I drive highway to work everyday but I can't go above 62mph or it shakes violently which only recently started to actually worry me when I noticed during another repair that the rust is so bad in spots that it looks like the mount for the coil spring in back is going to snap off my damn rear end.
Also the frame bits in the back are over 60 ate through by rust and at some point the fucking gas tank will probably just drop out from underneath.

What sucks is the engine runs strong and my transmission is good.
But the actual fucking car isn't safe anymore and I don't like driving it except for riding around town.

All I can do is let it ride till I come across something else to drive.
I don't want to finance anything unless I absolutely have to.

Is your vehicle burning oil or leaking it. If leaking then it's an idea to use an oil sealant, this is a chemical that causes rubber to swell, so can help if the oil is leaking through an old rubber seal that is leaking.
Shaking could be an unbalanced wheel and your car hitting resonance with that.
Doubt the metal has rusted through.
But yeah, sucks to have an old car with stuff going wrong with it. It can feel overwhelming. Been there.

put all your money into crypto then roll it over into some blue chip NFTs and you can easily find someone to trade a late model nissan sentry for them plus your looking at somewhere in the neighborhood of 450% gains cash on cash roi
