Fona's Car Hunt and Test Drives

2022-06-03 at 5:34 PM UTCLately my current ride has been giving me worries.
Mainly it has some really bad rust issues and I'm concerned I'll be on the highway and the suspension mount will break or the gas tank will just fall off.
Also, it started shaking worse at highway speeds.
I drove it all last year and could go 80mph with no real issues but now that speed has decreased to roughly 62mph and it starts to shake bad enough that I become genuinely concerned about my own safety.
This combined with the fact it constantly leaks every fluid you put into it has got me looking at other options.
Last night after working for 11 hours I found myself at home looking on FB Marketplace when I saw an Audi for sale and it was dirt cheap.
First I thought that it must be a scam but I checked again this morning and it was still posted.
Better yet it was 6 minutes away so I went to check it out.
The asking price was $1600.
It is a 2005 Audi Quattro 2.0T or something.
150k miles
Clean inside and out I asked the dealer what was the catch....
He told me that he hasn't looked at it and it came in as a repo.
Intrigued I asked to test drive it and he said "okay" then proceeded to pull out a 5 foot long wire and connected one end to the battery and the other end to the starter.
:/
Started up and ran like shit for a few minutes while it learned fuel codes but stabilized and sounded good.
I jumped in and took off down the road.
I was never told anything about the fact is was slower than dog shit and wasn't able to go above 35mph.
Found out while trying to merge onto the highway that it was too good to be true.
Had to take a long way back to drop it off and told the dealer I didn't appreciate him leaving out that key bit of information.
He apologized and I went home.
I'm still glad I went and looked at it today because I have to start somewhere but even if it ran perfect I still probably wasn't going to buy it as it took premium fuel.
Did I mention the brand new turbo the seller was bragging about it having didn't even work?
Yeah, I'm going to keep looking and post of my adventures doing so here in this thread. -
2022-06-03 at 6:16 PM UTCStay away from any audi unless you want to be poorer than you already are. Theres a reason theyre all cheap
-
2022-06-03 at 6:19 PM UTCGood lord no just no Fona.
That thing isn't worth the foam off your piss.
Get an older Honda accord or Toyota Camry. -
2022-06-03 at 6:26 PM UTCId even go civic. Toyota parts can be expensive and theres more civics than accords out there. Plus theyre cheaper to buy than an accord or any toyota.
Get a manual too. Niggers (black people) cant steal them and theyre cheaper than autos -
2022-06-03 at 6:31 PM UTCUsed car prices are WAYYY to high right now.
Maybe look into leasing a new car? -

2022-06-04 at 1:06 AM UTCThanks for everyone's input.
When I left the house today I didn't plan on buying it. Figured there was a 20% chance I would but really needed to start looking and that's what I did.
Tomorrow I plan on looking some more. -
2022-06-04 at 1:12 AM UTCTomorrow I have lined up to go look at a 2002 Buick Lesabre with 65k miles.
I like old people's taste as they prioritize comfort. -

You cant kill a 3.8. Most likely what that car has. All old people dont rod on shit and usually take decent care of theire vehicles. I like the low mileage and that car will be like driving a couch, theyre sweet -
2022-06-04 at 5:13 AM UTCThat Buick has a coolant leak and oil leak. A broken bolt connecting the air intake manifold.
Sounds suspect and problematic. -
2022-06-04 at 5:38 AM UTCYa its a 02

2022-06-04 at 6:32 AM UTCMight hit this one up tomorrow.
https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/d/centerburg-suzuki-sx/7491630654.html
It's 4 wheel drive.
A manual
And its Chinese which is awesome because I miss being racist in my jap car.
I could get a vanity plate that read "Xi Phoo" or something and have a blast with it.
Not bad on gas either. -
2022-06-04 at 5:28 PM UTC^I really want that or one similar.
They haven't e-mailed me back but I got cash ready to buy it.
