Negotiating terms on a lease

    SWIM has a friend, he has been seeing his apartment neighborhood going to trash.

    He is a no problem renter, been solid for years.
    He kinda in a spot of going to need to renew his rent and deal with the neighborhood at the moment.
    Would is possible to try negotiating down the breaking lease penalty w/e?
    He intents to do it if something good enough pops up.

    Read your lease first and see that it more than likely says you have zero rights as a tenant and that the Landlord can fuck you however hard they chose and legally you have to take it.
    If you want out tell them and be up front about it so they can find someone else and don't have a vacant apartment for weeks or months.
    How close is the lease to being up?

    Nah tenants have rights I learned from my dad when he turned our house into a trap house and da landlord would be like CHING CHONG BING NO HOOKER ALLOW! NO COCAONE DEALER NO GUN but guess what we did it anyway

    He even tried to take our door once he said YOU NO PAY YOU NO GET DOOR and literally chopped the door off with an axe. So my dad called the cops and they yelled at the landlord saying you can't just take someone's door
