apparently Quonsets are the new rage to an old style building concepts since they're inexpensive as second homes

My idea of building one while thinking of the old show Gomer Pyle USMC has been shadowed by shit loads of people with the same idea who also have less money for building the standard conventional home.

It's becoming a new standard in a world where owning is becoming impossible for 70 percent of the next generation and population. especially in the USA. it's getting scary living here. I might have to live in my car while building this fucker. but the factory they come from hire guys to assemble the skeleton for you and you go from there.

I'v owned 7 homes over my life time. 1 condo and 6 homes averaging 4 years between. but on as long as 10 years (almost) and the condo we only owned for 20 months before flipping it and buying our first house. a starter home.

you have to start small and work up. unless you make a ton of money and move where homes are a fraction of california or you're just rich like Wariat's mom is. I bet she married a rich dude from California and probably had Wariat before she met Wariat's "American Dad".

notice he never goes into specifics.

    This is my favorite one.

if I owned a fifth of an acre in San Francisco east bay this thing would be worth 850k easily. LOL but the land would be worth 600k. an acre of land in the Bay Area can go for 2.5 million or more. it's insane. but then again, I'll have a home when the big fucking quake hits up near North Reno.

here is another guest house/ starter project which kind of looks like the area too.

Usually I can’t take smart drugs everyday, I’d start shaking. Since getting the first vaccine dose though they don’t even keep me awake, so I’ve been taking them daily and don’t think I’d notice if it was having a negative effect on me. My dreams are different, too fucked up to talk about and don’t feel like my dreams, I suspect they’re having a bad effect on my heart as well. I think they’re improving my mood, they do that but now it’s accumulated from taking them continuously, I’m functioning well daily, waiting for the crash.

It's pretty RAD for my old ass

Maybe not traditional fam. But it's an old garage shop/military barrack concept the was actually popular for home building in the 1920s

Also, they an be dumped in a 40 foot hole with a long latter and dump earth back on top as a home version of bomb shelter or just a cellar dweller office space or root cellar for foods

This looks hella easy to assemble

I'm looking for land myself at the moment...if that was a bit closer I'd have been interested in it...I'm trying to find some that is Max an hour away from work though which is limiting my choices quite a bit. In town or on the outskirts of Houston it's more like 60k an acre.

    ..that's about 2hrs away...I'll be damned if I'm going to commute 4hrs a day.

That's nice btw, power I want to be off grid, but water and sewer would be a bonus

For 27k I could have got a well, new septic and 20 acres on the Cali side of CalNev line next to a butterfly shape lake.

However 20 acres developed with a house is probably 5000 a year in land tax.

It's 1200 a year with nothing on it.

How much is land tax in texas

I googled it Quonset homes in Texas...pretty interesting though it appears they come in a kit and you have to arrange all the other stuff yourself. It would be nice if someone was selling them as a package with building/setup/etc all included..I'm old and lazy to fuck around with all that stuff these days.

Not much out of the city...My 6 acres up past Conroe is about $600 a year looking at last years tax records...that's with a house on it (2 houses now)...most of it is still wooded though.

They come in ribs you just raise vertically and bolt together. You can hire a local handy guy to do it

Of course you will have to lay a slab foundation down first

    That's easily 3-15k

It would be perfect in slate city Salton Sea area because a contractor went out of business but laid pre existing slats with existing drainage
