All of Houston is the hood. And yes, I've had persons of color road rage at me, I've been threatened with a knife by a darkened fellow and my ears are assaulted EVERY DAY by their stupid "music" at volume 1000000 as they drive around looking for white 70yr old women to carjack.

I didn't know until I got here. In fact Houston is very green...when I first came here I was expecting desert and tumbleweeds...as the plane came in to land over the lush green water filled lands I thought I'd got on the wrong plane.
I had very little interaction with black people in England, I know they are more prevalent these days but back in the 80s and 90s it was a rare event to have to deal with one and even when you did they spoke normal English and there wasn't a "naw wot a mean" to be heard.
No, it was when I came to this god forsaken land that the "Africa American" revealed itself to me...a wholly unique breed it is, unlike any other darkie anywhere in the world...and not in a good way. -

I did, I moved from Houston and I lived in the countryside on my 6 acres 10 miles outside of Conroe...I moved back to Houston temporarily after divorce so I'd be closer to my job...that temporarily has just stretched out to be 18yrs though...time flies right?
I'm currently looking to buy some acreage about an 1hr from Houston...though not having much success in locating the ideal spot yet after several months of looking. -
