Look I'm a big big Jiggaboo Johnson fan, probably the biggest JJF out there I'd say, but... I have to push back on this "shoot for the legs" thing, man.
If you've got a gun out and shooting, you better be in danger such that taking the chance of failing to hit or incapacitate is untenable; this means that you better be aiming for center mass, period.
Unless... hold on, wasn't the original scenario involving someone already wounded/knocked down, on the ground but not incapacitated? I.e., you were talking about the "execution" shots, right?
Okay, I take it back: shooting for the legs in that case is probably alright.

Yeah, I understand the attraction of vengeance. There's a good movie with Michael Caine called "Harry Brown" iirc about this kinda motif.
It's just a boring concept. Zeds dead spider catching a couple flies and black snake moaning is much better and more unique. Liam on shameless kidnapped a guy who broke into his house and got him off drugs. Shooting someone for breaking in is boring fight or flight and not really noble, it's just what should happen.
