I stay off the interstate in white out conditions and heavy fog.
You just don't stand much chance at braking in time when you can't see brake lights in front of you and a lot of people don't even have working brake lights in which case you are extra fucked.
And if I can't brake in time then the person behind me is going to collide with me also.
It's just not worth it as the interstates are filled with people from all over the country many of whom don't have experience driving in the weather conditions your region experiences nor do they know the roads very well.
