I think he was mostly successful, this was the mid 90s to the 2000s, the tide of pajeets and others with 1-year programming degrees didn't really hit until higher-level languages like Java, PHP and Python hit the mainstream. but I guess that's on him too though considering C++ was like the forerunner for OO prograemming languages in general

I never got vaccinated only wash my hands before i cook and after i shit.
i bite my nails and touch everything except kids.
got sick once, wasn't covid when my mom got tested, never had anything else go on, only wear masks when stealing from stores, but stoppedwhen rules were lifted.
i take a DMARD shot of humira and a chemotherapy drug at low weekly doses of Methotrextae to make my auto immune disease (Rheumatoid Arthritis) less active in fucking me but exposing me more susceptible to sicknesses.
