2022-03-07 at 11:48 AM UTCSee? I fucking told you the foundation was fucked, but ooooohhhh Helladamnleet who works in construction doesn't know wtf he's talking about when it comes to water damaged foundations.
You can't just flex seal over it, Fona. The damage is already done and too advanced. I'd stop keeping anything you give a shit down there.
Invest in a sump pump too. You're gonna need it. -
2022-03-07 at 11:49 AM UTCOh yeah, and you don't use putty on fucking concrete, you use MORTAR
-
2022-03-07 at 12:10 PM UTCI've gotta rip up the walls in my basement and fill/drill cracks before turning the deck into a mud room. I've got like 7 projects I have to do in next 6 months

2022-03-07 at 12:27 PM UTCMy goal this week as far as the basement is concerned is to get new glass in that one window and figure out why the other window down there that does have glass is leaking.
The one with glass has a really rusted frame and oodles of putty caked around it so I'm unsure if it's worth saving or not or if I can do much to fix it without replacing it.
I am glad the water leaking in seems to be coming from those windows and not out of the walls.
I doubt I'm going to invest in much more basement sealing paint after yesterday.
I got the shit on my shoes (my good ones).
And also it's a lot thicker that regular paint and the color looks like shit.
I'll probably get 1 more gallon of sealing paint and put on the worst of the walls and then just repaint over everything else with regular paint in a color that doesn't look like battleship blue. -
2022-03-07 at 12:29 PM UTCThe worst part of painting yesterday was how little prep work I did and so much old paint just came off in big chucks onto my roller.
Like I said, I really don't give a shit but it was more than I expected and had me going over spots 3 and 4 times. -
2022-03-07 at 1:08 PM UTCthat shit is 100% gonna flood

2022-03-07 at 1:18 PM UTCDepending on what the situation turns out to be upon closer inspection, I'm either going to replace the glass or get a couple of these.
The only shit thing is I know those old windows are probably set in that concrete like a mother fucker.
But as it is right now there is nothing else to do until I fix the windows.
There is but there is no point to. -

^windows and bitching... -
2022-03-07 at 5:20 PM UTCNormally, they're removed from the exterior, outside. Those frames are beyond repair. May as well use a crowbar to just pry them out in pieces, measure the hole, get new windows.
-
2022-03-07 at 5:47 PM UTCI measured them both and they are like 31.5in by 13in.
Should be able to find a couple windows at the hardware store and drop in but Im not doing that project today. -

Oh 100% because he's too retarded to listen to anyone telling him what the actual problem is. Wants to talk shit instead. Can't wait for the thread 3 weeks from now talking about how his ex is suing the shit out of him for destroying her house doing dumb shit like try to flex seal a crumbling foundation. -

prety sure flex seal isn't gonna damage anything. I just wouldn't keep anything you aren't willing to lose in that basement -
