2017-04-18 at 5:24 AM UTCIn one of the Icewind Dale games there was a minor item called "R.E. Danforth's Non-Explosive Burning Fluid", or maybe it was "non-explosive burning fluid" and the r.e. danforth was in the item description or something. The same line appeared on a gravestone in fallout 2. The internet suggests there's someone whose tomb stone this product's name actually appears on. None of these three references or commentaries on them seem to be cognizant of each other although one suspects some influence in one direction or the other between the games. I'm really curious as to whether or not there ever actually was such a product and what the deal with it is.

>the fire was not, as he had supposed, completely out, and second, the name of the fluid he used was tragically inaccurate.

2017-04-22 at 9:43 PM UTCApparently, a woman who died in the 1800's by the name of Ellen Shannon literally has it on her tombstone.
Ellen Shannon
Who was fatally burned
March 21, 1870
by the explosion of a lamp
filled with "R.E. Danforth's
Non-Explosive Burning Fluid" -
