Trump did this.

2022-02-28 at 3:28 PM UTCUkraine might have been invaded in 2022 but the seed of the invasion has actually been sown back in the '17, during Trump administration when Trump decided to initiate an "easy to win" trade war with China.
During the trade war the US bravely unleashed bukakes upon bukakes of trade "sanctions", tariffs and punitive actions upon China and China companies, including high profile extra territorial and extra judicial kidnapping of China citizens.
And yet after bukakes upon bukakes of sanctions and tarriffs, not only did the US not win the trade war, but worse, China did not lose. Not only did the US failed to bend China on its back, it even failed to bend China on its knees. Not even a knee. With the trade war going limp and fizzled into a chode of stalemate, Trump went back to do what he does best.
Talking.
While it's true that the US did not lose the trade war, it has used up all economic ordnances that it could deploy comfortably against China without causing much discomfort to itself. And it demonstrated to the world and China and especially Russia just how easily the US's world reserve currency status and its control over world trade can be so easily abused by one single person with an unhinged, imbecillic mind, Dr.Strangelove-style.
It has also spent all incentives, means, reasons and motivation for China to not give the US the finger. With Huawei's american dream in tatters and tarriff at all time high, Beijing knew there's nothing more that it could lose without mutual pain on both side of the pacific, including blessing Russia with freedom of action around its own sphere of influence.
The trade war also taught Russia the dangers of having all its forex reserve in one USD basket and the need to divest from USD into RMB and actual physical gold. Eventually, and naturally trade between Russia and China grew and alternative to SWIFT became more practical and desirable than before.
Instead of narrowing trade deficit between US and China, Trumps trade war had served to synchronize both Russia and China politically and economically with each other into regional BFFs, and thus a new paradigm was shifted without a clutch.
Now the US is lying in fetal position on the ground with tears in its eyes and asking why isn't China helping it with the Ukraine thing, but China will only stare back at it from the corner of its slanted eyes without saying a word.
Because you knew why.

Biden basically told Putin "go ahead" a couple of weeks before he invaded.
I'd love to play Poker with Biden because he always shows his fucking hand like the idiot he is.
"Uhhh we wont be sending any troops...go ahead" -
