Bar code scam

SWIM wants to pay for an item that costs significantly more than another item with the same size barcode. SWIM decides to purchase said cheaper item on an earlier visit, goes home and carefully cuts this barcode off. SWIM returns to store and glues barcode over chosen item. Loads trolly full of his regular shit then proceeds to pay as normal thus saving him £££/$$$.

I'm not poor like you faggots so I need not do this.

Do you have self serve checkouts? How will the item be scanned, manually by yourself or by the worker with a handheld scanner?

Also when an item has already been paid for and inventoried it is likely no longer in the stores system, plus if they wanted to find who took it they would just go after the guy who scanned the same barcode twice

Just put it in the bottom of the cart and "forget" to take it out with the rest if the items

That's not how barcodes on products work...they are product barcodes not inventory count barcodes. As long as the item is still actively sold the barcode will work...the computer will simply deduct 1 of that item from the inventory count.

I buy enmasse barcodes for the products we make...the same barcode goes on the same model...thousands of them...they are not individualized.

I said likely because I know of that being the case for some things. I've only really dealt with wholesaling and inventory from supply side and not retail merchandise. Retail could be different but might not, hard to tell as thread is vague. I've had situations where I paid for items in one section of the store, put in cart, then selected some more and went to the cash and accidentally put through the cash but the transaction was stopped, so I guess Canadian tire has that system but I can guarantee that's not the store OP is posting about

Could be, I think it's a lot of extra work/manpower/$$$ to put individualized labels on thousands of products though for little if any gain.

Most place will buy 100 of barcoded 1234...scan in 1234 on receipt and set qty to 100 and thats that...as each 1234 is scanned and sold it removes 1 from inventory.

Even if you go to Wallworld you'll see their prices include the barcode...I just bought a new microwave a couple of weeks ago and was looking at the barcodes to match it up with the boxed product because there were 3 or 4 that were similar but priced different...so I used the barcode to identify which one I wanted.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Walmart is far and away the easiest store to steal from. Fuck barcodes. Fuck special thievery bags. Fuck shoving things up your skirt or down your pants. Fuck evading cameras and finding blind spots. Fuck all that shit, nigga.

Fill your cart. All out in the open like any regular shopper. Wheel your cart out the door to your car. Leave. Profit. It will work every single time.

Just walk right out the door. They can't legally come after you, nobody making $11/hr will take the risk, and police response time is too long to ever get caught.

On the topic of barcodes, just don't do like that dude who rang up a PS4 as bananas did and make it super obvious.

My degenerate friend regularly walks out his local co-op with items. He told me the other day they don't call the police if it's under £30.

One man grabs two folders the plastic ones, or the wooden little letters in craft the labels come off super easy. Apply label to an expensive item holding the item up between you and cameras with the label facing you move your hands like ur a dumbfuck spinning around a 300$+ vacuum, after staring for 5 seconds, you grab the next model over, different model vacuum. This is important

Do the same spin thing and apply the sticker. Recommendation is bottom right with right hand. Put them both back, use your phone to take a photo of the two items. Go buy your beer and pizza, do the same shit with the pizza where you need to read the back of EVERYTHING for a couple seconds then you put it back.

Pay for your 10$ in food, don't use food stamps during this.

Send your friend to grab first vacuum and when he does just right in the cart. He must never handle where the UPC is, make him grab like 10 bucks in chips and bread and other large cheap items like milk and soda.

Self check out he he's to scan half the items then the TV for 1.96. Then the rest of the groceries.

Pay a 20 so you don't have to diddle slowly.

Move the half of groceries then "folder" then the rest.

If he's successful an hour later send his girlfriend in to do it.

No girlfriend? Send him tomorrow on a different shift

Always park next to the cart racks if you can.

Once you leave, don't stop for shit.

Alternatively you take your brother Label maker, scan a barcode in it and put them on 6 items, if they catch your friend have him go back and point out half of these Vacuums /TV or safes, half don't.

Yeah. They might go look at the cameras to see if you touched half of them but some unknown man did this.

And if you're making and applying labels your only liability is how good of a second you pick for is he gets rolled

50/50 split, becomes 75/25 if you have to go in twice as label man

    You're welcome

My friend buys 10 dollar gift cards around the holidays 10 at a time for cash. Then after Christmas he pays for the 10$ total in groceries and mislabeled tv. Cuz if you only stick a 20$ Annd get change with the tv, they're gonna bother you.

That card could be anything ;)))

If they see you put only 20 in and get change, but remember peak hours are 5 to 8 on weekdays 10 to 1 on weekends.

Have a good night. Hopefully this inspires others. My friend is also interested in theoretical private discussions of ideas. if any of you are experienced in shrinkage, lmk if you want to get ahold of Odin

Find an item in a large box with some space inside. Open the box and insert small high value items then seal it up and leave.

Person 2 comes to the store seperately and purchases that exact same box/item as is, paying cash. If the alarm goes off, stop and look confused and they'll most likely just wave you through, knowing they just watched you pay.

Person 1 never leaves the store with any stolen merchandise and person 2 will be clean on camera once they check to see if they were the stuffer. No way to connect the two.
