I was driving outside a Costco once and pigs were accosting a girl with a stroller and handling the stroller roughly so I looped back around and got closer and could see the stroller was filled with stolen items. Always hear about people doing that but witnessed it last year.
There was also a local case of a black gurl (who I matched with on tinder not realizing who she was) who may have been shoplifting with her child then had police officers come inside the store to arrest her while she was still shopping, made a scene and ended up getting tased in front of her child. Regardless of whether she was stealing or not, it's not ok to tase a young mother in front of her child especially while she is still inside the store. Terrible precedent set. -

I used to arrest entire Gypsy families, where every one of the females, including the kids, have a concealed carry bag under their skirts, large enough to fit an entire TV inside. They get their kids as soon as they can walk to start loading up on free merch. And they network inside the store and act as lookouts and decoys for one another. -

I'v worked in L&P for several large box stores in the past. I can assure you nearly 7% lost anually back then is probably 20 percent these days. maybe even more. the average profit margin was 33 percent per unit (average). with that much lost you have 80 percent reduction in profits. its not 20 percent of 33% markup, it's 20 percent of the total amount at cost.

You read an article in October about 5 Walgreens closing in San Fran due to "organized retail theft" and took that ridiculously false statement at face value because: boomer
Despite that clearly not being true, if a large company closes a store due to massive retail theft on a scale never seen before (an obvious symptom of a society, not a root cause of anything) that has to do with the industrial organization of the company, how it is integrated in the chain, where their resources are allocated, how competitive they are within the market etc. People in San Francisco shop at whole foods for groceries more so, not a drug store that incidentally has food too. If people need to steal to eat then that is obviously a societal problem and an attitude of disrespect towards major retail outlets that often receive preferential treatment from the state are a part of that.
