Windows or Mac?

I like the user interface much more because of its straightforward presentation, I like the stability and security of the OS and the fact that they release free updates for compatible machines, and I like that it comes with a bundle of free and essential software to counter the Microsoft products you need on Windows.

a bunch of code was taken from BSD for Darwin and a couple of other things, but there's really not all that much it has in common with Free/OpenBSD anymore.
Fuck them both though. Windows has implemented code to stop older versions of Windows being installed on machines with recent CPUs (ie. if you have an i3-i7 you can only install Windows 10), they have extremely pervasive telemetry (to the point that if Windows Media Player crashes, it sends full information of what you were watching at the time with the error report) and as of last year, Visual Studio quietly links the Telemetry module into every project at the compile stage. Even a simple 'hello world' application is able to grab all manner of system information and send it to MS without even the developer knowing about the behaviour. That's not to mention their gaylord advertising within core applications like the worst kind of mobile apps...
For anything serious I use Lunix, my Windows computer pretty much just has Steam installed.The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -
2017-04-20 at 2:02 AM UTCI've been using macs as my daily development machines for several years now, I'm pretty well sold on OSX. The UI, while not without its quirks, is flatly better windows or any linux offering that hasn't been riced into fragile duct taped together garbage. The terminal is close enough to a linux environment that I feel at home, a few shitty old BSD versions of coreutils aside. I have no love for apple as an organization but OSX meets my needs really well.
