Are they hard to work on? A friend of mine says they're never out the garage which I called bull shit. I've never had issues when I had a 320d and 1 series sport.

Most are ok till they hit about 100k then they are nothing but trouble.
Just getting proper info to do repairs sucks and forget about reflashing modules without a dealer near by.

It's not that they're hard, it's that they're expensive as fuck for mundane things. My brother in law had one for a while and there were some things like brakes that just cost insane amounts compared to, say, any other car. Like the rotors alone were $600 and the pads were like $75 each so to do brakes costs him $900.

I'm sure there are now, yeah, but at the time the car was new enough that there weren't really.

I wanna say it wasn't a basic bitch BMW like a 325i or some shit either, it was one of the bigger numbers like a 740il

My 1993 Passat GLX isn't bad to work on cost or difficulty wise, and driving it you can tell it was a top tier model for it's time.

93 isn't what I'd consider old, but then again I may just be older than you.

It's almost 30 years old bro.

20 is a classic car and u qualify for antique plates.

    I'm 31 born in 91.

I mean I don't think it's "old" but it qualifies for what I was talking about..I mean more like cars built after 2000 like 2010 and shit because some of the early 2000s aren't too bad to work on too

I'm 30 and also born in 91. I guess I can sort of remember when like a 1998 was new so they don't strike me as old yet.

But yeah, 1993 being pre-obd2 would be old I reckon
