2017-04-19 at 1:34 AM UTCYour handle sounds like it's straight out of a cypherpunk anime, and boy do i love anime. Also you use Linux, ergo you are part of the master race of technological overlords that will rule the planet soon. I feel like we are kindred spirits. Is that gay? Probably. Do i care? Probably not.
Also do you code? Markup languages don't count. -
2017-04-19 at 1:38 AM UTCGP has skills. True story.

2017-04-19 at 4 AM UTChe's pretty knowledgable, don't think he does much coding but he was talking about running a crypto party to introduce people to basic cryptography a few weeks back.

2017-04-19 at 4 AM UTCGhost prototype reminds me of the obvious. Somehow being able to create a ghost still in beta testing. Which would be immeasurably cool and probably scary as fuck at the same time.

Originally posted by Ajax That was a nod towards your passion for OPSEC. You are quick to scan and anxious to infiltrate. Others are slow to reveal. Enter Ghost Prototype.
Maybe, "Ghost Prototype" is a nod to his own OPSEC. In my line of hobbies OPSEC is more of a must than a passion. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
It's interesting that he is yet to respond to the thread. -
2017-04-19 at 12:59 PM UTCI assure you, I'm not as skilled at anything as anyone else. Y'all setting yourself up for disappointment.
Anime is ok. Recommend me some. Much to literally *everyone's* surprise, I've never watched Ghost in the Shell, or played Deus Ex. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann has been my favorite by far.
What distros do you use? I've been unconvinced to move from Debian, except to learn RHEL for job prospects.
It's not interesting that I'm lazy. I entertained the idea of posting a screenshot in this thread with tabs like "what is pgp", and "what is OPSEC", because I'm that kind of jokester.
I'm interested in coding, and can do some simple shit with C and Python, but haven't put the time in to become proficient.
I mentioned in my introduction thread, the name was taken from two songs, Ghost Prototype I: Measurement of Thought, and Ghost Prototype II: Deus Ex Machina, which tickle my transhumanist boner, and hits the g-spot in my ears juuust right. It's also a reminder of my mortality, as I have not yet supplied myself with a vessel for when this meat machine ceases function. Until then, I'm just the precursor to what'll be left when I'm gone. Kinda bleak when you don't believe in souls.

Never seen it, though Missionary Impossible: Grope Protocol would make an excellent pornographic film. I don't know Qhost's whereabouts. Weren't they on Zoklet?

I'm on Backbox Ubuntu. I have some experience with Debian, Mint and a tiny bit with RHEL(Which reminds me they had a free testing Distro for devs a while ago, maybe they still do) but i prefer Ubuntu. If you like Mecha anime you should watch Code Geass. Ergo Proxy is futuristic and weird, not really my taste but you might dig it. Also a classic is Death Note, one of my favorites.
And uhm, if you're looking for something more light hearted but still action packed i would suggest Kill la Kill. That shit was hilarious IMO.
Also, C and Python are dope. I should get into C tbh, but like you i am notoriously lazy. I did get reasonably proficient with Python. Nowhere near a pro but i can usually figure something out if i have an idea for a project.
Also cheer up buddy, it doesn't matter we don't have a soul. We are but the temporary custodians of the particles that make up all of us. We came of the Universe and our particles and energy will transform back into it once we die. In a sense, we've always been around, and always will be. I think that's a nice thought. -
