why does age of consent even exist as an idea or theory?

   I just read this and am wondering how much truth there is to this outdated concept called age of consent:
   
   "the age of consent was originally meant for preserving women's virginity until marriage, which is why it didnt apply to men for a long time. then anti-sex feminists came along and wanted it raised and applied to men as well to help prevent sex outside marriage and prostitution"

   dont you guys fink if some not all but some 14 yr old girls and even moreso 15-16 yr old girls choose to fuck dogs or this is the age they start experimenting if they have a natural perversion that also some or even more of them would choose adult men?

   Because parents are legally responsible for their kids. If you had a 12yr old kid fucking a 40yr old man you'd more than likely not want that happening, you have the legal backing to stop it with an age of consent without having to resort to taking matters into your own hands.
