I got a new job.
-
2022-01-13 at 11:51 PM UTCMy last job was a few months ago, at the construction site of a hospital we're building.
I was lucky and got on the fire alarm crew, and for over a year all I worked on was the fire alarm system for this building.
I've been looking to get out of construction work and have been avoiding applying for those types of jobs while I've been looking for work. I applied for a fire alarm technician job at a company that specializes in just that, and they've just decided to hire me on. My training starts next week, and if everything goes well, in a few weeks I'll be driving around in a company van with my own helper doing inspections and repairs on our clients fire alarm systems.
Should be much easier work physically, lower voltages than I have worked on in the past which is something I've been looking for ever since I found out a previous coworker of mine was electrocuted at the local mall doing some work they weren't qualified to do. -

2022-01-14 at 2:01 AM UTCI need a good paying job. at least a 100 an hour. underwater welding might be a thing but I'm 56 with fucked up eyes and lungs. so scratch that shit.
the other thing would be driving a long haul. but you need your own rig to make 120k a year. if you use their truck, they only pay like 28 starting. and about 40 to regular guys.
owning a truck cost probably 30-40k a year (at least some years) to maintain. so you would still be pulling in 80k a year which is maybe 55k after taxes.
fuck Income taxes. we need to rid income taxes and just let people drive the economy with extra money to blow. and hope the economy doesn't raise prices like that have been.
fucking everything cost like 20-35 percent more since pre-covid -

Chicago is dying. really dying. it's becoming apart of the rust belt.
NYC or LA, You might have something. but Chicago is dying. and the way our Gov is doing things. San Francisco will follow. there is strong talk that many HQ wont reopen when Covid is over. If it ever is over. Thanks to our Gov, first Elon Musk took HQ out of Palo Alto and to Austin. followed up by Google. Google is leaving the Palo Alto/Foster City area. soon Facebook, soon, Uber, Soon Lyft (which I think is in NYC anyways)
then Mozillia. then all these Game Companies will leave too.
San Francisco and California FUCKED UP BIG TIME> -

BECAUSE ITS UNIQUE. Every fucking corner or every other corner in Brooklyn had NY Pizzaria. "The original"
unrelated.
Son of Sam
Berkowitz withdraws an insanity defense and pleads guilty to the six murders, being given six 25-years-to-life sentences for the crimes, and for which he would be denied parole ever since. Following his arrest, Berkowitz made statements that he had been part of a violent cult that aided him in carrying out the attacks and murders.
Though no hard evidence was uncovered to support the claim, many still wonder if Berkowitz was acting alone. According to Jim Rothstein, a retired New York Police Department detective who was working on the vice squad during the Son of Sam killings and investigated suspicions a satanic cult was behind much of the violent criminal activity during the 1970s, Berkowitz “didn’t do all the killings."
"Once they locked up Berkowitz and blamed him for everything, they said it was done,” Rothstein told A&E Real Crime. “But Berkowitz was just the guy who took the rap. It was a much bigger thing.”
“I see that people will never understand where I come from, no matter how much I try to explain it,” Berkowitz told CBS News in a rare 2017 television interview. "They wouldn't understand what it was like to walk in darkness." -
2022-01-14 at 10:36 AM UTCthe mother fucker wasn't alone. He was possibly a member of the Church of Satan. I'm curious if Dr Michael Aquino aka Lt Col Aquino was in on it.
