MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Fire Chief Aaron Lipski will share information on Tuesday, Jan. 11 regarding a body that was found inside a crashed and burned vehicle near 76th and Green Tree on Sunday morning. NOTE: The chief is expected to speak in a 4 p.m. news conference – and FOX6 News will stream that event.
Firefighters were dispatched to a report of an auto fire near 76th and Green Tree around 5:40 a.m. on Sunday. When they arrived, the vehicle was fully engulfed in the engine and passenger compartments, a news release says. The burning vehicle was located adjacent to and spreading to a one-story vacant rehabilitation center.
After the fire was put out, the news release says the vehicle was towed to the City of Milwaukee tow lot located on W. Lincoln Avenue. Later that same morning, the Milwaukee Fire Department was advised that a lot attendant found what appeared to be human remains in the vehicle, the release says.
