Lancer rough idle problem

Doesn't matter if it is in gear or not.
Once it warms up though it idles rough.
    Sometimes stalls idling.
The lady I bought it from said the dealership told her it was the ignition control module.
Im not sure if it is or not and haven't had any time to do any more than stare at it.
Apparently it is a pretty common problem with these cars but it can be a number of things.
Currently it is 17 degrees outside so Im not really trying to fuck with it out in a cramped garage.
Other than maybe getting some throttle body cleaner and spraying it around the intake and cleaning off some sensors I don't want to get any filthier than that with it being so cold.
I'm trying to call a mechanic to see how backed up he is working on cars to see if I can just take it to him.
    Anyone have any ideas?

Sell the car asap before it fucks up more and becomes a 2000lb paper weight.

Once again fona, if it's not a toyota/Lexus or honda/Acura DO NOT PURCHASE

Im on the fence about what to do with it.
It has 217k miles on it which is a lot more than my ford does but it also gets a lot better gas mileage too.
Either way, common sense tells me that I don't need 2 cars.
I do drive quite a bit.
If I end up getting it fixed and selling it I might go ahead and sell my other car too and look for something a bit more fuel efficient.

Right now I am averaging about 180-200 miles each week and my ford gets 17 miles per gallon.
That lancer was getting 26 miles per gallon what little I did drive it this weekend.

It needs 2 new tires too but Amazon is selling new ones that fit it for $75 each. If I decide to keep it I would get new ones otherwise Im not sure how hard it would be finding used ones for it but I would go get some used ones. Im going to call around a junk yard or 2 and see if they have any lancers I can get an ignition control module from and see if that is in fact the problem.
Im going to try throttle body cleaner first and honestly it might just be a shitty injector or something.
Im pretty sure it is an aluminum engine block because of how damn loud the injectors sound when it starts to crap out idling.
I meant to take a video of it for you guys today but forgot.
Tomorrow Im going to get the title notarized and will go back and get the plates off it to return to the owner so I will try and take a video then.
It's suppose to be a little nicer tomorrow anyways so Ill try the throttle body cleaner while Im there and if that helps great but if not Ill maybe fiddle with it the following day or take it to a shop. Its just too cold and Im on 10 hour shifts right now.

yeah, the youtube videos I looked up regarding the issue Im having were all titled "How to fix rough idle part 1 of 9" and shit.
Hopefully its a cheap fix and ideally Ill fix it myself or at least semi-fix it.
Though about just tightening the throttle cable a tad so that it revs a little higher and just let that be a fix enough to sell it.

have you take out all the spark plugs and check them.

I don't have it at my apartment to go outside and mess with.
I'm going to hopefully fuck with it this week.

I was too tired yesterday to do much with it although I did reset the icm and I pulled apart the air intake to see what kind of shape the enhancement was in.

Until I get back there I will be researching different things to try.

Put full coverage on it and park it in the hood

This trick is cheap, easy and worthwhile. Pop the hood in the dark and look to see if you see any sparks from your ignition/spark plug wires going to ground indicating a need to replace the wires. Probably not your problem but an easy check.

I did just find my OBD2 scanner so I will be reading the codes when I go over there in a couple days.

Could be any number of things, but I would say that at 215k miles a petrol engine is at its end of life.

Ive had 2 5.7 gas rams with 260k and 295k still running with no major repairs and still see them around town. Gas vehicles today should easily go over 200k with normal maintenance.

Well, it's a car that bluebooks at 20x more than you paid for it, so there's bound to be issues.

Probably has fucked up valves and a stretched out timing belt.
