put a bid on a property in the high desert about 50 miles from Reno. close to off road for dirt bikes and 4x4 and several lakes.

I'm gonna save over the next 4-5 years before putting property on it. Maybe a well and a septic tank first. however I heard the local town might have a water treatment plant put in, so I may not need a well afterall. just a septic tank.

the only burden right now is clearing the lot once a year. that can be a big job. or just hire some dude and a bulldozer to do it.

I'm currently semi-seriously looking for a 2-5 acre spot too and will be doing similar...having it sit for a few years, put a well/septic on it etc.

...though mine wont be in the desert.

What's the humidity average at your property? Sounds like an ideal place for manufacturing LSD. Does it have access for shipping and delivery trucks? please send me the address so I can register a company there I will pay you handsomely for access

I hope he thanks every post of yours from now on that infuriates you to the point of a blind rage causing you to fly to to Poland and find him, tie him down to the floor, and let a bunch of dogs slowly eat him alive. Also sear his b-hole shut with a curling iron.

Mine is in a high desert. it's at the bottom of the California Sierrahs north of where Donner Pass is. it's 40 miles to downtown Reno. but it's a trip because if you look west, you see Mountains, green forest and snow packs (most of the year). but you look due east and it looks like death valley but it's not as hot. I think it maybe gets low 90s at tops. thats' most of Texas weather I think.

so if I position the house I build I can have sunsets over the mountains and plant some Pine Trees on that side of the house and then in the front yard, have a sunrise over the desert and have a rock garden in front. two extreme topography that are opposite in nature. not a lot of places like that in the world.

it's also about 90 miles from Black Rock Desert where Burning Man Festival is. and 60 miles to Pyramid Lake, both across the state bordering park land for off roading.

ill prolly just use it for a summer house if I dont rent it out.

Buy land now, it's not being made anymore. and if covid ends you never know when a windstorm of foreign people start buying land especially near Reno, Bay Area and Austin Texas because all three have Tech moving in. Reno has not only the Tesla factory but they're now making batteries in Reno and there are huge solar farms going in. there is not a lot of homes now in Reno. there is a massive building boom.
