Job Hunting Thread

Started looking at possible jobs the other day and went back to it this morning just to see who is hiring and what places are paying.
It is alarming at the number of jobs available that don't pay a living wage but on the other hand that is why they are probably available.
My goal is to keep moving up my hourly wage and even if I can't make a big leap in regards to that right now I'd still like something new to do.
There are a couple of jobs I would like to apply to but at the same time I would feel a lot better waiting until after the holidays are over with.
As I have a little time before I'm comfortable switching again I think I'll spend my time making profiles and resumes for the jobs that do interest me so when the time comes I can be prepared.
Anyone else looking to try something new next year?

Remember the key to moving up the ladder is to lie through your teeth. Only a few companies actually do background checks.

Most good jobs dont advertise. Put together an xcell file of places youd like to work and start applying. Apply for supervisor positions and bullshit your resume. When ive hired people in the past ive found its hard to fact check without violating peoples rights so alot of times employers wont check everything on your resume

I've gotten fucked over like three times for lying about my background check

Back luck, I've been a hirer and firer for the last 3 companies I work/worked for and none of them did full background checks (but claimed to). Compaq checked 3 out of every 10 applicants and they claimed 100% background checks were done. One guy turned out to be a 2 time killer too (I'm glad I was nice to him).

I am an ex-President of the United States and, while I was impeached twice, I was let off the hook both times by my fellow Republicans. Because of me, the Presidency, the House and the Senate were lost. I lost the election by over seven million votes. I caused hundreds of thousands to die from the Covid by telling people that masks and vaccinations weren't needed. I was banned from Twitter for lying and spreading hate.

But, I would like my job back, if you don't mind.

You shouldn't need to hunt for a job, employers should be headhunting you.

My plan for the new year is to make the same amount of money from passive income that I get from working.

    T H E F A S T W A Y: A U T O M A T E D I N C O M E V E H I C L E S
This is the way that I’ve done it—by creating an automated vehicle
that generates income without consuming time. Not only is it a much
faster way, it’s a much more certain way to do it.
When your automated income vehicle pays for your expenses and
supports your desired lifestyle, you’ve made your F.U. Money! In essence

you can stop working—retire today—and the income generated by your

income producing vehicles will completely pay for your LIFESTYLE

    This should be in MMM.

OP, what is the wage you are looking for and what makes a job a good job to you? You mentioned you might be looking for something new. Does mean different? What is your skill set and does it align with your interests?

    Value Village is the key.

    Workers
    Forklift Driver
    Loss Prevention
    Supervisor
    Manager

If you make the same amount driving forklift and aren't interested in LP/security or a supervisory role there isn't really much else in that specific industry off the top of my head. I believe fonaplats previously worked in manufacturing but is now in warehousing

I'm sure he has a very nice resume with lots of relevant experience for all kinds of stuff.

It's not just the skill set that matters though..if you've had 20 jobs in the last 3 years...

I don't know why you think that matters so much. I have the same problem + giant gaps in my resume from all the jobs I worked for a week and then quit in a fit of rage so I just don't mention them.

If I was hiring someone with a resume like that I might bring it up just to see what they say. Protip NEVER say anything bad about your previous employer during an interview like "MY LAST BOSS WAS A DICK HEAD SO I LEFT" you gotta spin it like "That particular position was not meeting my personal goals and I am further looking to develop my skills long term and learn new things, this position seems like a good fit for me based on my previous background and experience"

I'm sure you don't...however if you were an employer and investing time and money in training someone you don't want them quitting after a month or two and having to go through the time and money consuming process again.

You don't hire "perm" employees for a temp job...you want them to STAY. A person with a bad track record isn't going to be considered if there are 20 people without that track record also applying.

If you have had too many jobs, include only relevant experience and use years instead of months. Bullet point your jobs with no more than 5 bullets per job and focus on quantifiable results and achievements more than responsibilities and duties. Start every line with an action word.
