The first F1 race of the season

  1. #1
Is starting in half an hour

I know that nobody gives a shit but it might be good. NASCAR and F1, both facing dramatic loss of viewers, dramatically altered their respective series.

NASCAR's changes have fallen flat, managing to both alienate established viewers and fall to bring in new viewers.

F1 has halved the size of fuel load (the heaviest part of an F1 car) thus bringing back mid-race refueling, enlarged the tires, and freed up the aerodynamic restrictions, decreasing lap times by 5-6 seconds.

Hopefully Mercedes won't dominate the series again. Nico Rosberg retired after winning the championship last year "because he accomplished his goal and doesn't need to go any further" (but we all know he just knows he's shit and wouldn't be able to keep up now that the playing field is more leveled and he doesn't have the dominant car) Hamilton starts on pole though...

Anyone else like to watch rich fucks waste millions of dollars driving cars around the same track for hours at a time?

They really should stream it but they're retarded and apparently love their tv deals

Better than last year but not a whole lot different

Don't really care for ferrari buy thank God someone other than Mercedes won

Apparently they decided not to bring back refueling and I didn't find out until tonight

Should be a pretty good season

I have been binging for 2 weeks I have no desire to get high, gonna try and take a zattex day break because I can smoke fat bowls now and i have a noticable tolerance. I have blew through many grams doing this but I have also conserved the drug for very long periods of time as well.

Max Verstappen is a fucking whiny brat

That was a damn good race though

I have always hated Vettel but I'm starting to like him, there's no denying that he's one hell of a driver.

But for me it's just "anybody but Mercedes" at this point

It's wonderful to not have to see Nico Rosberg anymore though, he was a spoiled brat ten times worse than Verstappen but at least Verstappen is actually a good driver

Round 3 starts in two and a half hours but I don't think I'm going to be able to stay up to watch it live

I like F1 when I'm high as shit and watching cars go round is sufficiently mind numbing.

A few years back I worked at Silverstone and saw one of the races for free. Back when they had the decent engines

I've been to Monaco right before the race when they built the track. We drove the entire track and that shit is insanity even with a normal car.

I fucking HATE watching round-based motorsports, though. It is so fucking boring. WRC is where it's at.

WRC is pretty badass. But I do enjoy my circuit racing too. As long as its a real racetrack and not that redneck shit we have over here

Yeah the engines are shit now but they're still breaking track records every week. I guess they've loosened the aero restrictions somewhat, lightened the cars, and widened the tires

I saw this documentary that really put me off because I realized that all the drivers are spoiled little rich brat midgets who got literal fucking race cars as kids. Now the safety is so good that they don't even get hurt anymore.

With MotoGP you at least have the possibility of a rich midget dying. F1 is lame as fuck.

Some British kid got absolutely nailed in an F4 race today. Someone slowed in front of him and he didn't see, I dunno if he died but they were holding sheets around the car and on his way to the helicopter
