Remember the days of limewire and winmx
I thought it was so amazing you could download any song you want for free and burn them to a cd-r
I was a poorfag so for the longest time I couldn’t afford a burner and my connection was really slow and shoddy so downloading songs wasn’t really an option for me
But man oh man once a single mp3 did finish downloading it was the most amazing feeling ever
Now days piracy isn’t special at all
I can download entire discographies in a couple minutes and feel nothing
I get my pleasure from the physical experience now
But I will always remember how cool pirqcy was back in the mid 00s

Limewire, Morpheus, Kazaa, AudioGalaxy, there were several others. It all started with Napster. I had quite the mix CD burning ring going back in junior high. Hand me a list of songs and I could get you a disc in a day or two (still had dial-up). All of the tracks would be scrawled across the face of the disc. It taught me how to write small. Good times.

I love it, it's a beautiful thing! I'm becoming a datanigger. You know what's exciting? Buying a 4 terabyte SSD. A new SSD is never empty: it is full of possibilities. None of my SSDs have failed in years. I just stack them up. It's beautiful to hold every anime I've ever watched or want to watch, in one hand. Every song By every song artist whose any single song I've ever liked, I've got it.

I pimped out WMP with a halo theme lol. I thought it was so damn cool.
cmus is what I use today. I have my quibs with some of the design decisions but it’s the best I’ve found and you can paper over the parts you really care to invest in.
