Back during the gold standard there was genuine concern that someone would find a large amount of gold in Africa or elsewhere. A really large gold deposit would make central bank gold holdings worth less, undermining the big currencies, which were pegged to gold, which would cause massive economic damage. -
2021-11-22 at 7:18 PM UTCIn just a few years, gold and silver will be worthless. Electronic currency and cash will also be worthless.

Indeed. But to be honest the more frequent, deadly and important threat to gold standard economies was simply the illegal flow of gold in and out of the country. -

Nah fiat currency will still work. That's the good part about not being pegged to a commodity. It's inherent value is literally it's about to conduct transactions inside an economy. 1 is still worth whatever someone is willing to give you for it. -

Without a power grid, that won't be possible. The ONLY things that will matter is food, water and supplies. -

Once the power grids go down, the supply chain chain collapses overnight. Within just a few weeks, no one will want to trade your gold and silver for any of their food, water or supplies. -

2021-11-22 at 7:42 PM UTCTelling you right now, gold and silver and cash and electronic currency won't be worth two cents, once the shit really hits the fan, and it will. A lot sooner than you think, too. Better stock up on everything. Get some basic tools, like an ax, saw, nails, hammer, knife, planer, magnifying glass, compass, crystal radio, etc. Once the supply chain crashes, you won't be able to buy any of it.

2021-11-23 at 12:29 AM UTCIf it hasn't been mentioned yet, it should be known that Gold is not idea to purchase right now. the reason is, the surge of gold was because of high-tech use as connector.
fewer companies are making gold plated or solid gold connecting points. Silver is the new gold.
it's going to be amusing to see gold take a big dump with this asteroid they believe maybe made of gold (or large percentage). it's not far off and within our solar system. they will certainly mine the gold off of it and have an assembly line of transporter scoops going to and from the asteroid to earth. -

So? If you leave your grandkids gold, they will be playing chicken with inevitability. Whereas if you invest in something that will actually grow past that, they will be king's. Literally a few thousand dollars invested in Amazon today will make your great grandkids millionaires. -
2021-11-23 at 2:37 AM UTCSome planets rain solid gold. Others rain diamonds. There's planets out there with a planetary crust made out of solid platinum.
