I will buy anyone's gold on the dip, gladly trade food and water for it. I know how to survive and extract the natural resources of the earth into their elemental components. Elements are valuable.
When I lived without electricity and heat people would try to take my empty aluminum cans in exchange for drugs and alcohol. I refused because aluminum is valuable and can be used for many things if you're clever

It is no different than how aluminium used to be by far the most expensive metal in the world and Napoleon had his silverware made from it. Now we use it to cover chicken for baking and shit. Inevitably you could be covering your chicken in gold foil.
